Old Ruby: Perth, Australia; Even when things are not so honky-dory in my life, I simply count my blessings and realise how much I love my life and how happy I am to be who I am. Even when things are weighing me down from time to time, I still know that I have a happy life. In October 2009 I was diagnosed with infiltrating cancer. I had both my boobs chopped off and have been undergoing a reconstruction. Its uncomfortable, strange, and I can no longer feel the physical warmth from my husband and sons when they hug me but hey...I am alive and my journey has been so much easier than many darlings who endure chemo and radiation therapy. So sure, I lost my tits.. but I didnt lose my happiness.
